Houseboat reservations are managed through recreation.gov.
Houseboat permits allow for overnight use at any designated houseboat site in Voyageurs National Park. Overnight locations are available to the first user. To get an overnight houseboat permit, go to recreation.gov, search 'Voyageurs National Park Houseboat Permits' and select your dates. Voyageurs houseboat permits at recreation.gov
We stumbled upon this site. There are two large bays that worked out well for the kids to paddle board. I imagine it was good for fishing as well, as we saw a number of fish jump out of the water while we were there. There is a really nice sand bar and a little isthmus to walk around on.
